Summer Break

Has officially begun. I am sitting in a tee and undies drinking espresso, watching Swingers, and finally editing the photos from Luke's birthday.

The little things in life...

With one more day of school I have been itching to celebrate with champagne. Since alcohol is a no-no for me right now (doesn't mix well with my meds), I decided to settle on treating myself to a Lush bubble bath. We rose our bikes over to Macy's to hit up the Lush counter and I can't elieve the booty of freebies they sent us packing with. All the more reason why I LOVE LUSH!!! Seriously, I am giddy right now. :)

Okay Luke is waiting for me, we have more episodes of Magnum PI waiting for us.

School Days

Second to last day of school today and it was a fun one. We started the morning with the annual teacher vs 6th graders softball game. It has been a tradition at our school for over 25 years!!! I played in it last year, and had a blast playing in it again this year. The only difference is that a few of the cute kid drawn signs said "Go Mrs. Nissen!!!" instead of last year's "Go Miss Diehl!!!". I hope that maybe just maybe I will be around to play in the next year's game as well. (In all honesty, after being laid off again-- I might just be a visitor, but it would still be nice to come back.)

Anyhow, after the game I had about 15 minutes to transform my classroom into Birthday Party Headquarters to celebrate all of my kiddos with summer birthdays that would ordinarily miss a classroom birthday party. I have to say it was a total blast!

Luke's 30th Party

Was a complete success. Family and good friends, what more can you ask for? Pictures to come later, for now-- report cards due tomorrow :/ and I am back teaching Bikram this afternoon.

Bikes & Caffeine...

2 of our favorite things! We have been really wanting to join in on the Second Saturday Bicycle Coffee Tour that's hosted by Broadacre and we finally made it happen today. It was a blast! 4 coffee shops all in Midtown (Broadacre, Insight, Weatherstone, Temple), and a bunch of really cool people on bikes made for a great way to spend our Saturday morning. I had an espresso at each place, so I have a little bit of jitters, but I am so glad we got out of the house and had a little adventure.

Next up a bubble bath to hopefully slow me down a little bit, then over to Luke's parents to help set up for his 30th bash tonight.
