Fourth of Juuuuuly

The Fourth of July is generally not one of my favorite holidays, but this year was definitely a ton of fun. It was hotter than hell, but we spent the day wading in kiddie pools, laughing with friends, eating BBQ, drinking cold beverages, and of course oohing and ahhing over fire works.

We seem to start every weekend/holiday with a bike ride to get coffee and the 4th was no different.

Shaun looking a awfully elderly as he dealt with the insect problem before the party started.

Holy Moly. I hadn't eaten a spare rib in almost a decade. I HAD NO IDEA THEY WERE SO GOOD!      (and the always darling Julie with me)

GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS

Sweet bike short tan lines, baby.

awwwe, I love this guy.

Anniversary

Okay, okay, I am WAY over due for a blog post. (I know it's been awhile when even Lucas is hassling me about not posting.) So here are some from our anniversary which was July 17th.

Lukey lookin all Blue Steel

The back of my sassy little LBD I got for the occasion:

We shared dessert before dinner. (The special wedding cupcakes had been in our apt for almost 24 hours already, I couldn't wait any longer)

My gift to Lucas were some prints of photos we had taken that I felt were very Us

Ever the thoughtful one, Luke knew that traditionally the second anniversary is the Cotton Anniversary so earlier in the week I came home to a new cotton dress. :)

No longer BikeWife.

Instead I am now a Cyclist. Yep, after cycling near 40 miles yesterday, and waking up with a wicked tan line from my padded bike shorts, and ready to go bike more, I realized I have made the switch. I no longer ride my bike just to get from point A to point B, or because I know it makes Luke happy. It makes me happy now. :) here are some pics from our trek yesterday:

me actually getting excited about a chance to wear my new padded shorts

Me hydrating with Kombucha and also enjoying a well deserved beer.
