Palm Springs

Palm Springs was absolutely incredible. What did we do? Nothing and everything. We relaxed, we read, we swam, we rode beach cruisers, we had THE BEST couples massage, we toasted, and we celebrated 5 incredible years of marriage.  It was heavenly and exactly what we needed before a couple of very intense work weeks. It's part of the cycle, we are working hard now so that we can enjoy a little down time after. In the meantime, I love being able to look at these images and have an instant smile on my face.
Not a bad view
Swoon. Love a pool to ourselves.
We are all about the quiet commune pool
More pictionary.

I eat all the avocados.

That card deck has been around the world with us.
Cruising downtown to do some browsing and brunching.
Handsome boy headed to the grocery store.
Wherever we go, we always picnic.
Coffee shop pictionary is a standard for us.
Champagne tastes better in bed.
Yes.
I mean this whole place is just perfect...
Sweet Luke arranged this. Well the champagne, and while we waited for that I was getting hangry so we decided room service was a must!
Thank you Ace. 5 years later, we love you even more!

Summer in the city...

This was a tough week - lots of late nights working due to a big summer work event coming up. We jetted out at 5:00 on Friday and hopped on the train for a quick 24 hour escape to the city.
Headed out to see Midi Matilda and Panic is Perfect at the Independent in San Francisco... Soooooooo much fun!
One glass of Veuve was the perfect treat.
Tour de France watching in bed in the hotel... I love it!

Reveille does not disappoint.
I love him.
Wandering around.
I can't drink beer, but I'm happy to read in a brewery while he sketches.
I can have a glass of wine though!
We will absolutely be back to this little urban winery a few blocks from the train station

We came back yesterday afternoon, and as nice as it is to get away, it always feels so good to come home to our space. We both worked a solid 9-5 at the office today - unusual for us, but I am so happy with how much work we both got done. Luke built bikes for our Retailer Event and I plugged away on excel drafting an order for our 2018 bike lines.

The funny thing is, I am so happy with how much work we got done that I didn't even mind going in. It was kind of nice to enjoy the quiet of the office after so much hustle and bustle in the city.

That and we both have an extremely short week - we leave Wednesday morning for Palm Springs, so keeping that in mind made a Sunday work session all the easier.

Trees having fun

We drove down to LAish... (suburbs) to paint a mural a nursery for some friends' first born. The couple is having a little girl, and they want her nursery to be different. Dad is a huge Calvin and Hobbes fan, and Mom couldn't have been more trusting and easy going. The story of the cartoon that inspired this is that Calvin is telling Hobbes how complicated the world is, and Hobbes responds that whenever he is feeling overwhelmed, he just takes a nap until dinner. Pretty fitting for a nursery.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about us painting a mural for someone else's baby but we put some thought, care, and love into this -- and I think it worked out. Plus Luke just nailed it, the characters were all him!

Secret Squirrel Activity at Specialized!

Big news coming out soon... In the mean time here is a behind the scenes pic of mural painting at work!

34 years young.

Before we jet off (really make the slow and likely holiday traffic filled) next adventure in LA, I want to post some of the pics from Luke's 34th. It was a sweet little weekend. We had some beach and bike time in Santa Cruz, an incredible dinner out, and tons of homemade with love food from me. I think he was happy. :)
Santa Cruz is always our happy place.
A real date!
So darn happy! I LOVE this photo! (Even though it is a crappy phone photo, it makes me smile back at him!

Lots of pictures of the pasta, I know. It was a big deal. I sure do love this guy. Happy birthday Lukey!
