Home away from home

Spending the night in Lodi means two things: 1. I have a full belly and a happy heart from spending time with my fam. And 2. I am missing my husband already and looking forward to seeing him tomorrow!

Still well worth the ride and the time out to see my brother's new pup, Buster, and to get some QT with Pop and Momo.

Also, I couldn't resist snapping a pic of
Peyton's sweet new ride because I know her uncle Lucas would be very proud and excited for her.

one more..

the man that spent most the time behind the lens:

50mm in SF

We spontaneously took off to the city after I taught Saturday morning. Our trip consisted of not much more than cheap mexican food for lunch, spying the boat race from afar, good coffee, riding bikes, and a little taste of chocolate to share. In short, it was perfect.

Good morning!

Never thought I would be bringing my husband coffee at the Capitol, but I kinda like it.

Family Ties

Almost forgot to post! Sunday evening we had our first of hopefully many movie dates with some of the women on Luke's mom's side. Grama, Karen, Aunt Kim, Sheena, and myself got together for a classic movie and some yummy eats. We each brought a salad, we had wine spritzers, and watched Casablanca. It really was a perfect Sunday evening. I always say how lucky we are to be so close with both of our families. I never knew my mom's mom, so I am especially grateful for the opportunity to have a relationship with Karen's mon. For Grama's 80th birthday last year the entire family on her side (Dellingers, Nissens, Dunns, Links, and Mehlers!) gathered for a wonderful weekend on the coast. I will never forget Aunt Vicky teaching us girls how to knit. She, like Sheena and I married into the Dellinger family and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Sheena and I also share Grama's rings- Lucas proposed to me with her engagement ring, and Adam married Sheena with the matching wedding band. It's corny, but it always makes me smile thinking about the bond Sheena and I will forever have with our matching ring set.

Jaw's party

Monday evening Jamber hosted a viewing party to celebrate the recent release of a newly enhanced version of Jaws. It gave Jason a chance to make his famous 24 hour marinaded fish tacos (he even whipped up a tofu version, too---DELICIOUS!) for everyone, and it gave me a chance to use Pinterest to it's fullest potential (DIY party accessories). I searched "shark desserts" and saw a sweet How-to  for carving a watermelon into a shark. I hung out with Linds and Mandy during the day and was delighted to be reminded of Linds' carving abilities (you should see her with a pumpkin), so I enlisted her to help... well, essentially, make my shark. I think you'll be able to tell from our pics it was a complete success.

also- this marked our first time experimenting with the new 50mm lens that the LaPeterson's gave Luke for his birthday. We have lots to learn, but I think it's going to be perfect for us!

Lindsay, ready and willing to conquer the water melon!
Stella is wondering what the heck her moms are doing.

It's getting there....

From SF with Love

Overnighter in the city. Couldn't have been more perfect (after the 3 hour drive, that is). Got some time in exploring the panhandle- good friends, good food, successful city bike rides (at night, too!), great dj's, sweet dreams in a custom built window seat, and my love. Life is sweet.

Aunt Morgan and Uncle Lucas

Speaking of little ones, how sweet are these? On Saturday, my brother, Josh, played in the Tahoe Mountain Fair. It was a two day festival, we missed Sunday, but we were happy to hear him rock on Saturday and get to spend some qt with Max and Bean.

Ps- two more reasons why I love Lucas: he keeps our niece in constant giggles and takes time to help teach our nephew about the finer things in life- like tether ball.

Baby B!

Or good friends are in the middle of moving right now. I am a little bummed we will no longer be down the street neighbors, but I am excited for them to find a great new place to call home. We helped a bit on Sunday, and yesterday I got to spend my afternoon with their sweet baby Bennett so mom and dad could get some more stuff done. He is such a good little boy and at first I was nervous thinking that our apt was gonna be a death trap with sharp corners and bikes and who knows what, but we had a nice little time snuggling on the couch and playin on the carpet.

I know what you're thinking... Someday later on, maybe we will have a baby of our own, but for the mean time it is sure fun to play aunt and uncle. :)

Yoga Love

Big Nosh visited and taught an incredible class yesterday. He is one of the most sincere, honest, authentic, and kind people I know. He was one of my favorite teachers when i firststrted practicing in Elk Grove and I always remember some of the advice he gave me when I went to training. We taught together Downtown and both benefited from having each other to lean on and talk to from time to time. I have so much love and respect for him and I can't describe how comforting it was to hear his familiar voice teaching us. He has an incredible story that he has been sharing about how the yoga has changed his life. I will try to put the YouTube link on here, but in the meantime google: Nosh Hedge Bikram Yoga. ...you might need tissues if you watch the video.

Anyhow here is the Bikram Yoga Sac Family of teachers, and also my faithful yoga companion, Stacey, who will soon be a teacher, too! (and Katie photo bombing us)

Excitement overload!

Just bought our flights to Europe for next spring! I couldn't be more excited!!! We went to Jamaica for our honeymoon, but we have been talking about Europe since we first started dating. Luke hasn't been yet, and we jumped on a Travelzoo offer he saw. Our first European Vacation is going to be of the Scandinavian variety!

All we know so far is that we are flying into and out of Copenhagen, Denmark and traveling the month of May. We are thinking about staying a week there to really explore Denmark (and meet his extended Nissen fam), maybe heading to Norway (His great Grandma Inga is from there), definitely going to Sweden and hopefully Amsterdam, too. I am also super interested in Bruges, so we will see where we end up!

All I know is that I would go anywhere in the world with him. I have already been fortunate to make a family trip to England and Ireland after spending some travel time of my own in France and Italy. (and a few months in Acapulco, too!)

At this moment, I know that I am truly blessed. Thank you to whoever is up in the heavens keeping an eye on me and helping me on my way.

Ps- Grandpa Darcy, don't worry. I'll show Lucas your County Clare someday. :)

Same weekend. captured on Instagram:

Me as happy as can be getting some puppy love, and us in all our Dirty Dancing glory.

Leisure Time

Last weekend we had an amazing time relaxing with our DisneyLand group in Auburn. Amber (of Jamber)'s parents were outta town so they invited us and Wolo to stay with them while they house sat. It was the perfect weekend of good friends, yummy food, laughs, puppy kisses, pool time, movie watching, and enjoying the breathtakingly beautiful nature.

Sopheh is NOT loving daddy right now.

Who's excited for Disneyland? WE ARE!!!

Prudence is the sweetest puppy I've ever met

Probably discussing which Disney Ears we are going to get ourselves.
