Yesterday

We had plans of walking to Christiania, but happened onto a free live music festival in the old town square. Had a blast. Still can't quite get over the lack of an open container law-- people walk around drinking beers all day long it seems and the parks are filled with people sharing bottles of wine or drinking pilsners. We were in early last night (I've had a terrible cough in my chest since we've been here and we wanted to take it easy), but we could hear live music through the night. We also woke up to fresh graffiti all along the cemetery walls. The graffiti scene is huge here. It's pretty neat to see that the street art is so accepted, if not celebrated.

Today we just shared our first traditional Danish breakfast-- holy cow, it was a LOT of food. We are back at the apartment, about to shower then rent bikes to see the little mermaid statue and maybe hit Tivoli tonight.

A standard Parking Lot:

Copenhagen in a nutshell-- Open containers on the street, bikes, some graffiti on the wall, and greenery in the background:
Luke looking local per usual with his Carlsberg. (People have not only assumed he speaks Danish with his looks, but tourists have actually asked him for directions)

We finally broke down and bought one of these Simpsonsesque donuts. How could we not?

Scandinavian design at its best.

Just another day.

Standard sight: posters, flyers, graffiti, and a pocket sized park through a walkway.

  2. Living outta a backpack is easy peasy. Just don't be surprised when you start to notice the same clothes in all the pics. (Luckily Lululemon clothes are easy to hand wash). Love you guys!
